Sharyn Tomasso

After a twenty year career in marketing and sales, Sharyn made the decision to pursue another passion of hers and become a teacher, starting as an educator at Grafton Job Corps.  For the past fifteen years, she has been an 8th grade English Language Arts teacher in Leominster, MA.  During that time, Sharyn has served in numerous capacities outside of the classroom including data team member, director of the school’s United Way Youth Venture program, contract negotiation team member, community outreach coordinator for the school, member of the ELA Curriculum Development team, and MAP assessment trainer.  She co-wrote a revision of the District’s 8th grade curriculum to align with Common Core Standards. As part of this work, she co-wrote the coordinating lesson plans and selected the 8th grade textbook along with supplemental texts.

Sharyn graduated from Worcester State University earning a BA in English with an Education minor.  She is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree at Fitchburg State University.

When not working, Sharyn’s greatest love is spending time with her grandchildren. An avid runner, she’s also a raving sports fan and loves any type of physical activity.  After earning her coaching D license, Sharyn coached Holden Youth Soccer teams for 12 years.  Her favorite creative outlets are writing and refurbishing/repurposing antiques (a true Flea Market Flip contestant “wannabe!”).

A resident of Holden, Sharyn and her husband have two daughters, a grandson, a granddaughter, and a feisty Yorkshire Terrier.
