Keyona Pointer 

​

          Keyona earned a B.S. in Biochemistry from Spelman College, where she graduated Cum Laude and was inducted into the Alpha Epsilon Delta Pre Health Honor Society and the Beta Kappa Chi Scientific Honor Society. She was also a Spelman College Bonner Scholar.  After earning her bachelor’s degree at Spelman College, Keyona Pointer matriculated into Boston University School of Medicine to pursue her M.D. by way of the Early Medical School Selection Program. While a medical student at Boston University, she became a published author in the field of Vascular Surgery. Her research background also includes infectious disease and microbiology.

          Keyona has a strong desire to connect with and engage students. Her tutoring style particularly emphasizes content comprehension rather than memorization. At Spelman College, she served as an organic chemistry lab assistant and tutor. She also has experience as a grade 9 biology teacher at Boston College High School, and she provided tutoring in all subjects for middle school students. Her expertise spans biology, chemistry, physics, math, and medical pathophysiology.  

          Outside of her studies, she enjoys reading, playing with her dog Kola, and spending time with family and friends.
