Diana Pettis 

​

          Diana Pettis brings over 20 years of experience to the IES team.  During her career, she has served as a one to one aide, classroom teacher, literacy specialist, literacy coach and Title I coordinator, and Title I literacy teacher.  Diana possesses a Master’s Degree in Administrative Leadership from Endicott College and a Master of Science in Education with a concentration in Literacy Education from the University of Southern Maine.  Diana is also an Orton Gillingham Certified Level 2 Practitioner and trained at the Seacoast Children’s Dyslexia Center.  Her passion for teaching is to ignite children to become life-long readers and learners.  She believes that an educator should know the students that they are teaching and develop a curriculum that meets their needs, as well as making connections to the world around them. 

          Diana has lived in Maine for the last twenty years.  Her family is very important to her and she enjoys spending her free time doing activities with them which include hiking, going to the beach, and gardening.  She also is passionate about sharing what she is reading with others on goodreads.com.
